Step 1 โ Online Registration
Counselling begins with online registration on the official APSCHE counselling portal. Here's what you do:
- Visit eapcet-sche.aptonline.in during the announced registration window
- Login using your EAPCET Hall Ticket Number and Date of Birth
- Fill in your personal details, category, and contact information
- Upload scanned copies of required documents (JPEG, max 200KB typically)
- Pay the registration fee (โน600 for OC/BC, โน300 for SC/ST โ amounts may change, check official notice)
- Save your registration ID and take a printout of the registration confirmation
Step 2 โ Certificate Verification
After online registration, some students may need to physically report to a Help Line Centre (HLC) for certificate verification. This is especially required for:
- Students claiming special category benefits (NCC, CAP, Sports, PH)
- Students whose caste/income certificates need physical verification
- Students with name mismatches across documents
HLCs are set up at district headquarters colleges. The list is announced on the official website. Bring all original documents + photocopies. The process takes 30โ60 minutes if documents are in order.
Step 3 โ Entering Web Options (The Most Important Step)
This is where you choose which colleges and branches you want, in order of preference. Each entry in your list is called a "web option." Key rules:
- You can fill up to 120 web options โ fill as many as possible
- Order from BEST to MOST ACCEPTABLE (not dream to safety โ read our counselling mistakes guide for why)
- Each option is [College Code + Branch Code + Category Code]
- You can modify options right up until the submission deadline for that round
- Save your final options as PDF after submission โ screenshot the final list
Strategy tip: Use our rank predictor to find the realistic cutoff range for your rank. Then build web options around colleges that closed within ยฑ20% of your rank last year โ these are the ones where you have a genuine chance this year.
Step 4 โ Seat Allotment and Results
After the web option deadline, APSCHE processes all preferences and releases allotment results. Here's what happens:
- Allotment is based on rank, category, and web option priority
- You receive your highest qualifying preference from the list
- Results are published on the official website โ login to check
- Download your allotment order immediately
If you got your 1st or 2nd preference, you're in great shape. If you got option #15 or lower, re-enter for Round 2 to try to upgrade.
Step 5 โ Reporting to Allotted College
After allotment, you must physically report to the allotted college within the deadline with all original documents. Here's what happens at the college:
- Submit documents to the admissions office (they verify originals)
- Pay the first-year fee (government colleges: ~โน35,000โ70,000; private varies)
- Receive a joining report
- You are now officially enrolled โ but can still participate in Round 2 for upgrades
Step 6 โ Round 2 and Sliding Phase
After Round 1 reporting, APSCHE opens Round 2 for:
- Seats vacated by students who didn't report in Round 1
- Students who reported but want to upgrade to a better preference
The sliding phase is automatic โ if a higher preference seat becomes available from your web option list, it's offered to you. You retain your current seat until a better one is confirmed. This is zero-risk.
Fee Reimbursement for Eligible Students
AP government offers fee reimbursement (Jagananna Vidya Deevena) for eligible students:
- Family income below โน2.5 lakh/year: Full tuition fee reimbursement
- Income โน2.5Lโโน5L: 50% reimbursement (subject to scheme rules each year)
- Valid for students in government or aided colleges (not all private)
- Apply through the SIMS portal โ income certificate from MRO is mandatory
